About Me
My name is Cathryn Franklin, and I am a passionate music educator in Montreal, Quebec. I have over seven years of experience teaching private piano and flute lessons, working with students of various ages and skill levels. I hold a Bachelor of Music from the University of Western Ontario, which I completed in 2021. In 2024, I was accepted into the Bachelor of Education program at McGill University, where I am continuing to develop my skills as a future music teacher.Teaching Philosophy
I believe music is for everyone, and that learning should be joyful, supportive, and student-centered. My goal is to nurture each student’s unique musical voice while building strong foundations in technique, creativity, and confidence. Whether we're playing for fun or working toward a goal, I aim to create a welcoming space where students feel seen, encouraged, and inspired to grow—not just as musicians, but as people.
Piano lessons are available for students aged 6 and up, and flute lessons for students aged 7 and up.

Studio Terms & ConditionsLesson Etiquette
• Students should come prepared for each lesson with notebook and music books.
• If a student is over 15 minutes late for a lesson then the lesson will be considered as a no-show.
• Parents or guardians are expected to be present during lessons.Student Cancellation Policy
Please notify the teacher as soon as it is known that a student will be missing a lesson, so a new lesson time can be arranged at a mutually convenient time.Teacher Cancellation Policy
If the teacher needs to cancel a lesson, a new lesson time will be arranged for the canceled lesson at a mutually convenient time.Traveling Lessons
A clear and safe access to the home is expected.
A parent/guardian must be home during lessons.
A quiet, distraction-free space with a suitable instrument is required.
In cases of unsafe travel conditions, the lesson will be moved online
When agreeing to traveling lessons the teacher is not liable for injury, damage, or loss occurring during the lesson on client property.
